Cases of failed auctions
- Someone outbid you This is the most common reason for losing an auction.
- How it works: The system awards the win to whoever has the highest bid when time runs out.
- Example: You set a maximum bid of ¥10,000, but another buyer set a maximum of ¥12,000. When the auction ends, that buyer wins and you'll receive a notification that your bid was unsuccessful.
- Your bid wasn't recorded in time This happens when Janbox's system doesn't manage to update your bid on the original auction platform in time, due to reasons such as:
- You placed your bid too close to the final seconds of the auction.
- Your internet connection was slow or unstable.
- The system was processing a high volume of bids at the same time. 💡 Tip: To improve your chances of winning, avoid waiting until the last few seconds to place your bid. Submit your desired bid a little earlier so the system can record it reliably.
- The seller canceled the auction In certain cases, the seller may cancel the auction before it ends if:
- The seller discovers the product description contains errors or the item is no longer eligible for sale.
- The seller no longer wants to sell the item at that price. When a seller cancels an auction, all previous bids are voided and the auction ends without a winner. Any deposit you paid for this item will be refunded to your account.
