You simply need to review the order details and complete the payment process.
Note: Janbox will charge a ¥2,500 cancellation fee per auction item/link if a winning auction order is canceled by the customer.
2. Common Reasons for Unsuccessful Auction Bids During the auction process on Yahoo! Auctions through Janbox, your bid may be unsuccessful due to the following circumstances.
2.1. Another Bidder Places a Higher Bid
This is the most common reason for losing an auction. How it works: The highest bid submitted before the auction ends wins the auction. Example: If your maximum bid is ¥10,000 and another bidder places a maximum bid of ¥12,000, the other bidder will win the auction when it ends, and your bid will be unsuccessful.
2.2. Your Bid Is Not Submitted in Time
In some cases, your bid may not be successfully transmitted to the original auction platform due to the following reasons:
- The bid is placed only a few seconds before the auction ends.
- Slow or unstable internet connection.
- The system is processing a large number of bids simultaneously. 💡 Tip: To improve your chances of winning, avoid placing your bid during the final few seconds of the auction. Submitting your bid earlier allows the system to process it more reliably.
2.3. The Seller Cancels the Auction
In certain situations, the seller may cancel the auction before it ends. This may happen if:
- The seller discovers that the item is damaged or no longer suitable for sale.
- The seller decides not to sell the item at the current bidding price. If the seller cancels the auction, all existing bids become invalid and the auction ends without a winner. Any deposit or reserved funds related to the item (if applicable) will be refunded to your account.
3. What Is the “Buy It Now” Feature?
Buy It Now is a feature that allows you to purchase an item immediately on the auction platform without waiting for the auction to end or competing with other bidders.
Availability: This feature is only available for items where the seller has set a Buy It Now price.
Benefits: Once you click Buy It Now and complete the payment, the system will confirm you as the successful buyer.
The auction for that item will end immediately, and the order status will be updated to Purchased.
4. Guide to Using the “Snipe Bid” Feature
4.1. What Is the “Snipe Bid” Feature?
Snipe Bid is a feature that allows users to place automatic bids during the final six minutes of an auction. When this feature is enabled, the system will automatically place bids on your behalf based on the maximum amount you have set in advance. This helps increase your chances of winning without having to monitor the auction continuously. The Snipe Bid feature helps you save time and increase your chances of winning your desired item at a competitive price. Two scenarios may occur during the auction process:
- If the current bid is lower than or equal to your maximum bid amount, the system will automatically place bids on your behalf to keep you as the highest bidder.
- If the current bid exceeds your maximum bid amount, the system will stop bidding and withdraw from the auction.
Cancellation of the “Snipe Bid” Feature
The Snipe Bid feature may be canceled in the following situations:
- Another bidder places a bid higher than your maximum registered amount.
- The seller ends the auction before its scheduled closing time.
- If you attempt to cancel the feature within the final 36 minutes of the auction, the cancellation request will not be accepted.
4.2. How to Use the “Snipe Bid” Feature
Step 1: Search for Auction Items
You can search for auction items using one of the following methods:
- Enter the auction URL directly from JDirectItems Auction (formerly Yahoo! Auctions).
- Browse products through the available product categories.
- Enter product keywords in the search bar.
Step 2: Review Product Information
Before placing a bid, carefully review the following information:
- Product images and description
- Current auction price
- Seller reputation and ratings If you decide to participate in the auction, click the Snipe Bid button to continue.
Step 3: Set Your Snipe Bid
Enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item. This amount is fixed and cannot be changed after confirmation. Click Snipe Bid to complete the registration process.
Important Notes When Placing a Bid
- It is recommended to enter an odd bid amount to increase your chances of winning (for example, ¥5,001 or ¥12,511).
- Before using the Snipe Bid feature, check the current auction price and the minimum bid increment in the Auction section. Your maximum bid should be at least one bid increment higher than the current price.
- Registration or cancellation of the Snipe Bid feature must be completed more than 36 minutes before the auction ends.
- To cancel your registration, select Snipe Bid and click Cancel Snipe Bid Registration.
Step 4: Confirmation
Once your registration is successful, you can review your active auctions in the Auction section under My Account. If you remain the highest bidder when the auction ends, Janbox will send you an email notification confirming that you have won the auction. The Snipe Bid feature is an effective tool that helps you save time and improve your chances of winning your desired item at a reasonable price. By using this feature properly, you can maximize its benefits and enjoy a more convenient auction experience.
