Warehouse Processing
Janbox operates a fully integrated warehouse management system that covers the entire process from receiving and storing items to order processing and shipment. Managed through a dedicated warehouse management system, the process consists of the following four key stages:
1. Receiving Items
Items are delivered to the Janbox warehouse in Japan by domestic shipping carriers. Within 24 hours of arrival, Janbox will process the package by performing the following steps:
- Scanning the package barcode to match the shipment with the corresponding order in the system.
- Inspecting the external condition of the package.
- Measuring the package dimensions (Length × Width × Height) and recording the actual weight.
- Performing additional services, such as product photography or item inspection, if requested by the customer.
- Confirming warehouse receipt and updating the order status in the system.
Exceptional Cases
If the package shows signs of severe damage, tearing, water exposure, significant weight discrepancies, or contains prohibited items, Janbox will temporarily suspend the receiving process. The package will remain unopened, photographic evidence will be collected, and an urgent notification will be sent to the customer so that they can contact the seller and file a claim if necessary.
2. Storage
After being received, items are stored in designated warehouse areas within a modern facility equipped with fire prevention systems and 24/7 surveillance cameras.
Free Storage Period
Janbox provides free storage for up to 30 days from the date the package is successfully received into the warehouse. This allows customers to consolidate multiple orders and reduce international shipping costs.
Storage Fees
After the free storage period expires, storage fees will be charged automatically if the customer has not submitted a shipment request. The storage fee is JPY 160 per cubic meter per day.
Inventory Management
Warehouse inventory is inspected on a monthly basis through a strict and transparent inventory process. This helps ensure that the physical inventory matches the system records, minimizes the risk of loss, and maintains product quality.
3. Order Processing and Packaging
Once the customer creates a shipment request and completes the second payment (international shipping payment), the Janbox team will:
- Retrieve the correct items from the warehouse.
- Prepare the shipment according to the customer's request.
- Pack the items in accordance with e-commerce packaging standards or any additional packaging requirements requested by the customer.
4. Shipment Dispatch
After packaging is completed, Janbox hands the shipment over to its international shipping partners for customs clearance and international delivery.
